‘A fleeting moment’
Your tiny hand placed upon my own,
Daisys picked, but newly grown.
Slowly we walked side by side.
Laughing and giggling with every stride.
The posie of daisy’s clutched in your hand
A chain of flowers I have planned.
Easy little daisy I thread with care
A wee bit of love, for you to wear.
This fleeting moment passes still
And time moves on, as it always will
For every flower I entwine,
Is one less moment that you’ll be mine,
My dearest hope is that years from now
When life has changed, I know not how
You’ll spot a Daisy white and bright
A second glance, a stopping sight…
And in that moment so soft and true
A little memory comes back to you
Of sitting there beneath that tree,
Making Daisy chains just you and me.
Maybe youll pause just for that while,
And find yourself begin to smile.
Youll think of my hands now old and frail
But that daisy will tell a different tale
So on that walk where flowers will sway
On that beautiful summers day
That daisy that I hope that you see,
Will bring you home right back to me…
